The MIB Disk is provided with AccView/Open for the benefit of the user.
It contain the following kinds of materials:

1. MIB files from the standard RFC documents.
2. MIB files for Accton devices.
2. MIB files from other vendors.
3. Public domain Packet Drivers

Except Accton MIB files, all materials are taken from the public domain.
Accton does not own them. The user has to verify the usefulness and
validality and take his own risk to use them. Accton MIB files can
also be found in specific AccView device management software products.
They are maintained by Accton.

             MIB Files

The MIB files are prepared for the use of AccView/Open MIB compiler MIBCOMP.
Several RFC documents are updated by their successors. The MIB files are
prepared with the more recent information. The following are the places
we made the changes:

Experimental MIBs in standard RFC may be assigned with new entries. They
are modified with the new assignments. For example, RFC 1239 changes the
definintions in RFC 1229 (Extention to generic interface MIB),
RFC 1230(802.4 MIB), RFC 1231(802.5 MIB), RFC 1232(DS1 MIB),
   RFC 1233(DS3 MIB)

All modification by Accton are clearly marked and can be removed easily.

The MIB files from other vendors belong to the orignal vendors. They are
provided here for using AccView to manage their devices only. They may also
be out of date. The user should contact the original vendor to get the
most up-to-date information.

All files are compressed by standard Windows compression program COMPRESS.
They can be decompressed by using EXPAND.EXE, which shall exist in the
Windows directory.

Two batch files are provided for expanding and copying all material to the
user's disk.

COPYMIB.BAT is used to copy all MIBs to a user selected directory.

To use COPYMIB:
1. Make sure the directory containing EXPAND.EXE is in your current path.
   COPYMIB.BAT uses it.

2. Change current disk and directory to the floppy drive containing MIB disk.

  C> A:
  A> CD \

3. Use COPYMIB
  A> COPYMIB C:\MIBS

COPYMIB will expand and copy all MIBs in the disk into the directory C:\MIBS

You can expand MIBs one by one by checking MIB.LIS file and decide which
ones to expand. For example:

   C> EXPAND A:\RFC1368.MI_ RFC1368.MIB

To use the MIB file with AccView, copy the MIB file into the AccView directory
and use Load MIB function to load it into the MIB database.

The MIBCOMP is not a fast performer, especially when large MIBs are involved.
Please be patient when loading MIBs. Also do not attempt to load all the MIBs
unless you want to experiment with the ability of MIBCOMP. Only load necessary
MIBs into your MIB database.

        The Crynwr Packet Driver Collection

The Crynwr Packet Driver Collection are public domain packet drivers for a
wide range of network adapters. They are taken from public domain and
compressed by DOS/Windows COMPRESS program and put into PKTDRV directory.
We could not test all of them, but they should work with AccView in theory.
We shall do our best to put any of them to work in case of difficulty,
however, there is no warrantee.
Unpack them using INSTALL.BAT as follows:

1. Change current disk to MIB disk

    C> A:

2. Change directory to PKTDRV

    A> CD \PKTDRV

3. Run INSTALL.BAT

    A> INSTALL C:\PKTDRV

Install.bat will expand and copy all files to the destination directory
Make sure EXPAND.EXE is in the current path before this command.

4. Read READ.ME in the packet driver directory for using these packet drivers.
